I love social media but with all the crashes, the ever changing algorithm, and just being plain busy and not wanting to create content all the time – I truly believe it’s important to have a marketing strategy that does NOT rely on social media.

Listen, I’ve talked about this before but I’m bringing it back because I know so many of you don’t want to be tied to social media to build your business.

Here’s the thing, social media is fussy – we have all experienced IG crashes, losing an account, or randomly losing followers, which is why I completely understand the need to have a strategy to build and grow that doesn’t rely on social media. So today we are going to dig into how to NOT rely on social media to build your business.

The key to building your business in a way that doesn’t require social is by building with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) as a priority.

The thing is, this takes a bit of time unless you do SEM (Search Engine Marketing – which incorporates paid ads).

How to NOT rely on social media to build your business

Anyway, you wanna stop relying on social you gotta start being intentional about SEO. You can do this through:

  • Blog
  • Podcasts
  • Youtube

Combining one of these evergreen channels with Pinterest to increase and speed up your reach will allow you to get out of the rat race of constantly creating social media content.

I want to be clear and say this isn’t fast but this will help you get away from having to constantly post on instagram.

However, I’ve had countless clients who DON’T use social media in a traditional sense build businesses without social media.

So what do you post on these evergreen channels?

Its a mix, I love posting long form and short form content that builds on each other. I truly believe this is the best way to leverage evergreen content because it allows people to binge your content.

So maybe you write a long blog post breaking down trends for the year, then in the next 4-6 blog posts you break down each individual trend and how to use/apply it.

Now you link these mini blog posts in the main one and boom someone is hooked. You can’t do this on IG.

This also works well for YouTube and Podcasts. Think about how easy it is for you to binge a podcast or new youtube channel? This is what you want to create with your evergreen content.
