The digital space is rapidly changing and doing the same old thing we’ve been doing to grow and build a successful and profitable brand just isn’t going to cut it in 2021.
These tips will point you in the right direction so you can find success online!
Take a stand and build your authority
People are tired of cookie cutter. They want to hear your stance and know how you are different from everyone else that does something similar to you.
Showcase your expert and authority status by challenging the norm and putting your secret sauce on everything (ie. I’m a faithpreneur so I’m gather you with Jesus and I’m also an advocate of canceling hustle culture).
Speak your truth and don’t try to copy what you see others in your industry doing.
Decide exactly how you want to stand out and show up
Get clear on – What do you want to be known for
Create content based on how you want people to describe your brand. What do you want people to say about you when they introduce you to their friends?
I want to be known for loving people, Jesus, my baby, motherhood, and building wildly profitable businesses on social media. This is what I center my content around because I know I’ll attract my dream community who love those things as well.
When someone introduces you to their friends how do you want your name or brand to be explained?
Focus on people
- Who is your ideal client?
- Intimately know this person and exactly how you plan to serve them
How are you going to reach people?
What is your pillar platform? A pillar platform is a space where you own the content. For example your blog/website, podcast, and email list.
From here you can share your pillar content onto micro platforms. Micro platform examples are social media platforms.
It’s important to know, where your audience is hanging out and how they prefer to consume content. This will let you know if you need to create blog content and share it on LinkedIn or start a podcast and focus on an email newsletter. Your audience will tell you what they want, you just have to listen.
Audit your current presence
- Are you currently representing what you want to be known as?
Look at your content and objectively ask yourself “is my content conveying the message I want to spread?” If not, then start with one thing and make small changes until you are happy with the direction of your brand.
Consistently show up
I’d be remiss if I didn’t add this one. Consistency does NOT mean frequency. You don’t have to do MORE, you just have to commit to showing up the way you promise.
