Hey, boo, hey! You know I love social media! Social media is a great, free tool to support your overall marketing strategy. There are a lot of ways that we can use social media to build and grow our business. Today, I want to share 5 tips on how to use social media.

Hey, boo, hey! You know I love social media! It’s a great, free tool to support your overall marketing strategy. There are a lot of ways that we can use it to build and grow our business. Today, I want to share with you 5 tips on how to use it in your business.

Before I get into the tips, I want to talk to you about a reason you may not be seeing results on social media. You have to have a marketing plan or strategy before you know how to market yourself on social media. Let me say that again. Sis, you have to have a marketing plan or strategy before you know how to market yourself on social media. Here are the 5 tips:

1. Know your ideal client and only create content for them.

I know you hear me say often – think about the customer journey but it’s so true. What does the customer need to see, think, feel, experience right now to connect with you, trust you, and eventually buy from you. This is where you’re going be creating your content from.

2. Quality over quantity 

Sis, you could post all day everyday but if the posts are quality posts, they aren’t doing much for your business. If you can only post once a week but it’s a good quality post, do it. Allow yourself to only focus on creating quality pieces of content. 

3. Repurpose your content.

Look at your old posts, repurpose them. Take your good quality captions and repurpose them. Make a reel, turn them into a carousel or a live. Spend less time creating and more time getting yourself out there.

4. Prioritize conversations with your ideal client.

Spend time engaging and having conversations with your ideal client. Spend time in their stories and on their feed. Engage with them. Intimate conversations and friendships and build a community. Make this an important part of your business.

5. Remember it is only one part of your funnel.

It is not the end all, be all. I have an entire business that I do not use social media for. You don’t need social media in order to build a successful business. But, when you are using social media, make sure that everything else is solid, right? You want to make sure your entire client experience is solid and make it easy for people to work with you. Social media is only one part of your overall marketing strategy.

Remember that the ultimate goal of social media is not to go viral. It’s to create content that is going to be impactful, to have conversations that are going to help you convert and move people along the customer journey! The goal is not likes, comments, shares, or saves. It’s how you can connect with your ideal client in a way that helps them trust you so that you can make a bigger transformation and impact in their lives through your products or services.
